Note From Our Head of School
Founded in 2008, The Galileo School is at the leading edge of innovation in academics, arts, and athletics for students with special needs. Our school’s particular focus is on children who have one of the disorders that fall within the Autism spectrum. Our school is named after the famous inventor Galileo Galilei who like autistic children saw the world in a way that was different from what was accepted in society. But in the end he changed the world. We see autistic children as the same as Galileo, full of undeveloped potential.
The Galileo School’s culture reflects a value of and commitment to diversity and working together as a team. The school is an inclusive environment that celebrates and supports all voices, Galileo is a community committed to the core principles of honor, respect and compassion. Intellectual and moral integrity, sensitivity to others, respect for differences, and a courageous and generous engagement with life are expectations for all of our students and faculty.
Our school is committed to bringing together the best and brightest teachers with motivated students in our classrooms. A strong partnership with families who commit time, knowledge and resources helps to enhance an exceptional learning environment. We want each student to develop a passion for learning while emerging from The Galileo School as an independent, confident, honorable, respectful and generous individual.
I welcome your interest in the Galileo School and hope you will use the following pages to come to know us better. I know you will share in my excitement about the wonderful opportunities that exist for all students, faculty and parents at Galileo.
