Philosopy for Early Childhood
Between the ages of 3 and 6 years, important development and learning occur in all domains of human functioning—physical, social, emotional, and cognitive. Our program thus stresses the relationship between these domains and focuses on the child as a whole. Teachers use classroom techniques that support children’s intellectual development while working with them on both their weaknesses and strengths. In addition, socialization is critical at this period of development so teachers work to integrate each child into the clasrooms community and to build strong bonds with and among the students.
Philosophy for Grades 1-4
Our goal in the Elementary grades is to create a challenging academic environment that also allows each child to develop within their learning style as well as to nurture their unique abilities. Learning experiences are organized to build upon one another and grow in complexity as the student develops. Individualized plans that consider the learning style of each student are implemented. Teachers strive to integrate the classroom into a team environment where students use their individual ways of thinking and talents to support one another in class projects and activities.
